American Sugar Alliance (ASA) appointed Lillie Zeng Director of Communications. DJ Moreau from Patino Associates led the search for this role based in Washington, DC.
As Director of Communications, Lillie will serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson representing ASA positions and policies to the media. Additionally, she will develop resources that the sugar growers and processors can use to tell the industry’s story. Lillie will focus on the development of the overall strategic communications strategy and plans for advancing the domestic sugar industry’s farm policy, international trade, and environmental policy objectives. In this role, Lillie will report to the Executive Director of ASA (Vickie Myers) and work closely with the Director of Economics & Policy (Dr. Robert Johansson).
ASA is a national coalition of sugarcane and sugar beet producers, including sugar farmers, sugar processors, sugar refiners, sugar suppliers, sugar workers and others dedicated to preserving a strong U.S. sugar industry. ASA works to ensure that sugar farmers and workers in the U.S. sugar industry survive in a world of heavily subsidized sugar. Only through a united effort can these dedicated Americans continue to offer a plentiful, secure and reasonably priced sugar supply. ASA provides the backing and support to meet this national need.
