Rio Tinto plc, a leading global mining group that focuses on finding, mining and processing the Earth’s mineral resources, named Maury Donahue as Chief Advisor, U.S. Communications. Michael Patino led the search for this role based in Washington, DC.
As Chief Advisor, U.S. Communications, Maury will develop and execute external Communications strategies for the U.S. in service of Rio Tinto’s strategic aims in this critical market. Reporting to the Head of External Communications at Rio Tinto, Aoife Pauley, Maury will provide functional leadership and partner with the U.S. leadership and Group and Product Group leadership to improve the reputation of Rio Tinto with U.S. audiences.
Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Maury served as Director, Global Public Affairs and Advocacy at FedEx. She spent over a decade at FedEx in a variety of roles leading media relations, partnering with government relations and building out FedEx’s content team. Previously, Maury spent three years with Burson Marsteller, conducting media relations outreach for a wide variety of clients. She also held roles with Fox News Channel and the White House.
